Travel to Princeton

The meeting will begin on the morning of June 28th, 2023, so participants should plan to arrive at Princeton by the evening of June 27th. The meeting will conclude by early afternoon on the 30th, so participants can plan to travel home that afternoon.

The nearest airport is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Once you arrive at Newark, look for the AirTrain and buy a ticket to “Princeton Station” (note that Princeton Junction is not your final destination, and so you should buy a ticket to Princeton Station, which will require a short transfer). The AirTrain will take you to the Newark Airport Railroad Station where you can board the New Jersey (NJ) transit train to Princeton (~45 min-1hour trip) (note that Princeton is in the same direction as Trenton and Philadelphia, and you will be taking the Northeast Corridor Line). Make sure your train will be stopping at Princeton Junction! The train conductors are friendly and will be happy to give you advice if you are confused.

The train trip requires a quick transfer at the Princeton Junction Station to get to your final destination of the Princeton Station. Get off at Princeton Junction and follow signs to a different track to transfer to a small train (called “The Dinky”)

for your final 5 minute ride to Princeton Station. (Note that the distance between Princeton Junction and Princeton is not walkable, despite the short train ride.) The Princeton Station is on campus, in walking distance to accommodations (~5 minutes) and downtown Princeton (~10 minutes).

Additional information about getting to campus

(Note: Participants should not fly to other New York area airports (JFK or LaGuardia) since public transport to Princeton is not direct.)

Housing

We can provide on-campus dorm-style rooms to students (graduate and undergraduate) and postdocs at no cost. All other attendees can stay in these accommodations for $75/night, or book hotel rooms in the town of Princeton. On-campus rooms are available from the night of June 27th (the evening before conference starts) through the night of June 29th (depart on June 30th, midday). If you would like to stay in the dorms please let us know on your registration form. The rooms are single-occupancy (or double-occupancy upon request if you’d like to share with another participant). Unfortunately, no guests are allowed in the dorms by the University (including partners or children), so if you are traveling with someone who isn’t attending the meeting, the dorm housing is not available for them.

Note: if participants wish to remain in the dorms for the night of June 30th, rooms are available, but will cost $75, even for students/postdocs. Please contact us if you want to stay the additional night.

Please register for housing at this link: https://princeton.irisregistration.com/Form/3853

If you were told we would be providing free housing to you, please check your email for information and your discount code.

Note that you need to register for an account and that the housing registration form asks for dates in Month/Day/Year format.
